The weather was kind to us and we managed to get the Regional Tournament completed at the Kamo Bowling Club greens on Saturday. One hundred and six players took part in the event, which was the second day of the event, the first being held at the beginning of October.

The winners of the 1-8 year competition will represent our Region 1 in the NZ finals later in the season. Many games were very close and the competition of a high standard. Results were as follows:

1-8 Year Women: 1st Auckland 14pts, 2nd North Harbour 11pts. Northland 8 points, Far North 3 points.

1-8 Year Men: 1st Auckland 14 pts, 2nd North Harbour 11 pts, Northland 9 pts, Far North 2pts.

1-5 Year Women: 1st Northland 18 pts, 2nd Auckland 14 pts, 3rd Far North 10 pts, 4th North Harbour 6 pts.

1-5 Year Men: 1st Auckland 18 pts, 2nd North Harbour 13 pts, 3rd Northland 9 pts, 4th Far North 8 pts.

Men, combined overall: (Both days added together, 1-8 & 1-5 total points combined) 1st: Auckland 46 pts, 2nd North Harbour 36 pts, 3rd Northland 22 pts, Far North 16 pts.

Women, combined overall: (Both days added together, 1-8 & 1-5 total points combined) 1st Auckland 38 pts, 2nd Northland 34 pts, 3rd North Harbour 27 pts, 4th Far North 21 pts.

Thank you to the Kamo Bowling Club for the use of facilities and catering and to umpires and markers on the day.

Interclub sevens

Finals day for interclub sevens will be held this weekend with Division 1 Men playing at Mangawhai, Division 2, Section 1 playing at Kensington and Section 2 playing at Whangarei. The Women's division 2 will play at Kamo. All matches will be played on Saturday. On Sunday the final of section 1 & 2 of the Men will be played at the Kamo greens. The top two teams from each division will compete in a round robin tournament. All venues start at 9am.

The National tournament draw is out. This event will be held in the North Harbour Centre and commences with singles for women and pairs for men on December 28. The tournament continues until January 9.
