Well done to those who qualified from our centre - Betty Mitchell, Diane Strawbridge, Margaret Gurney in the women's singles, and Steve Mitchell, Dennis Brewster in the men's pairs. Anne Bateman and Nancy Jujnovich will be defending their title in the women's pairs, along with qualifiers Pam Brewster and Sally Stirling, Ann Muir and Jude Ganley (last year's runners-up); and Fisha Murray playing in a composite team with Karen Hema.
In the men's singles David Hood, Monte Pawa (Far North); Sandy Foy (Dargaville); Gerry Mulligan, Colin Wintle (Mangawhai), Eric Pattillo (Kensington) and Rex Roadley (Maungaturoto) were qualifiers. The results of the men's pairs were under review when this report was produced so I cannot inform you of the other Northland qualifiers. You may check results on the Auckland Bowls website.
The next Centre fixture to be finalised will be the Centre Open Championship Singles. Entries for this event close on November 21.
Clubs are also reminded that they should now be entering their teams in the Inter-club Sevens Event to be held in January. This will be played in two divisions for men and women. Entries to the centre office with your entry fee of $160 per team. The winners of this event will represent Northland in the Regional Finals.
