The new bowling season will be here in just 23 days when the 2015-16 season opens at the home of the Centre president, Kamo Bowling Club.
The event is scheduled for 1.30pm on Saturday, September 5. All clubs and their members are invited to attend. If the weather is good,there will be a roll-up on the green so bring your bowls along.
The Northland Umpires Association is holding an Any Combination fours tournament on Saturday, September 19, at the Kamo greens. Entries are being accepted by Bruce Scott.
If you were entered in the event which was cancelled because of inclement weather in May, please contact him and re-enter your team. As there is no other event scheduled for that weekend, it hopes that this event will be well supported.
The Centre Pennants previously held at the beginning of the season have been changed this year to December. The Centre Mixed Pairs have been re-scheduled to January 2016. This allows both these events to be played when grass greens will also be available.
Bowls New Zealand has now confirmed the dates for national events and these include the NZ Inter Centre Open to be played in Auckland, the 1-8 NZ Inter-Centre to be played in Wellington, the Club Open Championships in the Waikato and the NZ Under-18 & NZ Under-21 Singles tournaments in Christchurch.
