Around 2500 people turned out to enjoy the third annual Community Day held at NorthTec's Raumanga campus.
The free giant water slide, Bumper Ball and Segway riding attracted long lines of youngsters on Sunday. Both adults and children thronged to have moko stamps inked on their faces, arms and legs, keeping NorthTec staff and helpers busy all day.
The horticultural stall offering free seedlings proved popular, along with the beauty therapy stall providing a nail-painting service.
NorthTec tutors provided information about programmes available in 2017, handing out information flyers, prospectuses, taking enquiries and enrolments from potential students.
NorthTec hospitality students also cooked up a storm, while music from Brendan and the Vibes kept the crowds entertained.
"It was fantastic to see so many families enjoying Community Day. We think this year's event was bigger than ever and we're really pleased with the turn-out. It's a great opportunity for NorthTec to give back to the community, and for anyone who is interested in studying to come and find out more," said Ellie Ball, NorthTec's events and promotions co-ordinator.
