Youth musicians from all over Northland will come together for their End of Year Extravaganza concert featuring music from around the world.
The public show will be held at Forum North on Sunday at 3pm and showcase the talents of 110 Northland young people who are part of Whangarei Youth Music.
The concert will feature music from Spain, Russia, the West Indies and also delve into popular culture with movie themes from The Hunger Games and Edward Scissorhands.
There will also be a special treat for Christmas enthusiasts with a holiday piece performed by guest artists from Otangarei School and Whangarei Girls' High School.
The performers range from 5 to 20 with several adults supporting the group. Some will come from as far away as Dargaville and Kaitaia.
Whangarei Youth Music is a community based not-for-profit organisation which was founded in 1980 and is run by volunteers. The organisation holds concerts twice a year, regularly performs at community events and holds music camps during school holidays.
