A flood relief concert planned in Moerewa on November 22 has been called off after the organiser was unable to raise the money needed.
Mark Graham, a Kaitaia-born, Kawakawa-raised session musician now based in Auckland, wanted to hold a free family concert at Simson Park to raise people's spirits after the town was hammered in winter floods.
He thanked the bands that had agreed to take part but said he could not secure the funding needed to make it happen. "We did what we could and asked who we could, but we were not able to pull it off," he said.
