At 79 Whangarei computer whiz Terry Clarke is the ideal person to teach computer skills to the district's elderly as more older people hook in to modern technology through training group Senior Net.
Whangarei SeniorNet is a computer learning group that is teaching some of our more elderly citizens how to operate a computer, from handling photographs to emailing and paying their bills online.
"It doesn't matter how young or old you are, I think computers are magnificent machines with enormous learning and teaching potential. They are daunting at first but that's why I'm here," Mr Clarke says.
Some of the students that come through SeniorNet's doors don't even know how to turn on the machines, let alone do anything more advanced.
But Whangarei 72-year-old Pam Perkins said that going to the classes inspired her to buy a laptop, and she has now picked up a range of new skills.
