AOS search for wanted man in Whangarei

Roads were cordoned off in Raumanga this morning as the Armed Offenders Squad searched for a wanted man.

Police were looking for a 25-year-old man after a firearm was presented at officers during a vehicle stop in Whangarei earlier this month.

Raumanga residents said they could see several members of AOS in the area and said they left about 6am.

Police did not find the man.
