Tutukaka's iconic Schnappa Rock Restaurant and Bar (pictured) is on the market as owners Nick Keene and Esther Eves pass on the hospitality baton. The venue was established 25 years ago and has become a community hub in the coastal destination, says Penny Kempton, the Bayleys real estate agent who is selling the property. She said the owners were eager to ensure the new owners understand the "big picture" of where the venue sits in the future of Tutukaka.
Hairdresser celebrates award
There are celebrations at Three Hairdressing in Whangārei this week as their newest team member Amy Jacobson has scored the Young Talent Award at the Collective Hairdressing Awards. The first-year apprentice is based at the Maunu salon and attended the awards ceremony in Auckland on Sunday night.
Show on the road
The Skills Highway Whangārei Roadshow is kicking off this month and offering businesses the chance to learn more about funding for workplace literacy and numeracy programmes. The event is on May 17, from 5.30 to 7pm and will run at the Orchard Business and Event Hub in Whangārei and folks are asked to register through Skills Highway by May 14.
