Beau Gibson and Tama Petera will have to pass fitness tests tonight to secure their berths in the Hawke's Bay Unicorns under-20 rugby league side to play the Warriors in Napier on Saturday.
Second-rower Gibson and replacement fullback Petera both have knee injuries and have been bracketed with Jamie Fogasavai'i and
Loto Kelemete respectively. Gibson, who played in the inaugural clash between the two teams last year, missed last weekend's buildup game against the Taranaki under-20s.
As expected Taranaki under-20s prop Rene McGee will start for the Hawke's Bay side. McGee was outstanding for Taranaki against the Bay last weekend and had a short stint with the Penrith under-20s last year.
McGee is the only player from outside Hawke's Bay in the host team which will be captained by Napier standoff Cody Tupara. Hawke's Bay second-rower Hemi Cahill is a younger brother of Melbourne Storm forward Hepa Cahill.
