Rotorua's Landyn Edwards and Rotana Howard have won the major titles at the 2015 Lake View Classic.

The 36-hole tournament is the biggest event of the year for the Lake View Golf and Country Club and attracted about 115 golfers at the weekend.

Edwards just held on to win the men's competition, shooting one-under par to beat Justin Morris (Te Awamutu) by a single shot.

Meanwhile, Howard convincingly won the women's competition, also shooting one-under par.

The winning pair are both well known in the Rotorua golfing community.

Edwards has won a long list of amateur titles and works at Lake View Golf and Country Club as a green keeper, while Howard is also a top amateur golfer and works at Springfield Golf Club.

The Lake View Classic has been running since the early 1990s.

The tournament included a big prize table at the weekend including televisions, lots of golfing gear, and other prizes.
