* First time I've been in Napier shops for ages. Total ghost town, how do these retailers survive? Heretaunga St will be same once the retail park takes away shoppers.
* Recent damage to Westshore Beach is further evidence the nourishment programme is not working. Last Wednesday night high seas on the high tide flooded the Westshore Surf Club building and the public toilets at Kiwi Beach for the second time in two months. The moderate 1.3m swells with 2.0m wave heights were similar to the July high seas, but fortunately for Westshore, the direction was from the south and during neap tides. LWD

* Those little green bikes on the roundabouts and elsewhere: Are they to remind us what bikes look like or is there another reason? BT.
* Regarding living below $2.25 a day: Keep up the good work, Jasmin! You are doing us proud. (Team from Tamatea Pharmacy)
* To Phillip M Ward: If you want decent milk go to farmers market in Hastings or Chantal Health Food shop in Napier. The brand is Origin Earth. Cost is $5.50 but worth it.
* Why do people wear T-shirts or singlets to the pool? Not all people are comfortable showing their bodies. Leave them be.
