Up to 140 young swimmers took to the water in Dannevirke on Monday, competing in the primary interschool championships.

The swimmers were the top representatives from their individual school championships, along with a combined country team of outstanding competitors from last week's country school competition.

With family, friends and schoolmates cheering them on, competition was fierce as the swimmers pushed themselves to achieve their goals.
