Eleven students from eight Napier high schools have been rewarded for their achievements by the Spirit of Napier Lions Club.

The annual Young Achievers Awards were held at the Municipal Theatre Pan Pac Lounge recently.

Mary McGhee, who is part of the club's Young Achievers sub-committee, said those at the great turnout were treated to speeches about each of their schooling and future aspirations.

"One sponsor said she felt she had smiled all night with all the wonderful comments made and how the students acted."
