OOPS: Embarrasing spelling mistakes at Splash Planet amusement park in Hastings had to be corrected yesterday. PHOTO/SUPPLIED.

OOPS: Embarrasing spelling mistakes at Splash Planet amusement park in Hastings had to be corrected yesterday. PHOTO/SUPPLIED.

Staff at Hastings Splash Planet amusement park yesterday morning spotted two spelling mistakes in the parking area.

The blunder has resulted in the sign-writing company responsible for it footing the bill. The error has now been fixed.

A Hastings District Council spokeswoman said the initial work was done on Sunday by a private company contracted to paint the car park in time for yesterdays season opening.

Council cannot say what caused it - our concern was to contact the company to get the errors fixed, she said.

How it happened is a matter for that company to resolve.
