Bickering just childish
Might the reason speaking out for amalgamation by Mr Tremain be that his boss told him so!
He doesn't dare to vent his own opinion.
For example, "the foreshore and seabed legislation".
Of course he was all for it because John Key and Chris Finlayson told him so!
Is the debt
of Hastings really $93 million and that of Napier only $4 million?
Well, that will change in a hurry as soon as Barbara Arnott's white elephant is finished (I mean the museum). Certainly it will be $25 million by then.
What is the real reason of Napier and Hastings continuously bickering about all kind of things.
Example! Mayor Arnott vented her opinion about the sports park and why she didn't support it and was not interested in putting money towards it.
According to her: Hasting had not contributed to the upgrade of McLean Park and it is a Hastings thing, so why should Napier contribute to the sports park?
And of course, not many Napier people would use it anyway.
Bit childish, I would say.
This is my contribution to the amalgamation debate. (Abridged)
Peter van der Stam, Napier
