Sarah -Jo Manaena's friends have raised nearly $10,000 to support her daughters and family her tragic death.

Friends of Sarah-Jo Manaena, who was killed in Monday's car accident on State Highway 50, have raised nearly $10,000 to support her two daughters and family in the wake of her tragic death.

More than 160 donations have been received by online charity Givealittle for the 25-year-old mother, survived by 21-month old Ivy Aroha Manaena, 3-year-old Aleeah Faith Manaena and husband Reihana Manaena.

The two girls were in the back seat during the two car, head-on crash near Maraekakaho, and were injured.

Family friends said on the charity's site: "Sara-Jo inspired everyone she met, and lit up a room with her personality, and genuine care for people.

"The sudden loss of her has left a massive hole in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

"And our hearts go out to the family.

"It's so hard to know what to say or to do at a time like this, one way we can practically help this family is to give a little if you are able."
