Two earthquakes have shaken the Hawke's Bay region in the past 24 hours.
GeoNet recorded a 3.2 magnitude earthquake 30km east of Wairoa at 9.41am today.
The quake struck at a depth of 23km and had weak shaking.
Another earthquake, also at a depth of 23km with weak shaking, wasrecorded last night 20km west of Waipukurau at 8.44pm.
The earthquakes come after a magnitude 4.2 quake struck Central Hawke's Bay earlier this month, shaking areas including Castlepoint, Eketahuna, Feilding, Hastings, Hunterville, Napier and Palmerston North.
Having a household emergency plan, survival items, a getaway kit and knowing your tsunami evacuation route are all recommended preparations for earthquakes.
