A video of a man who was struck by a car in Napier has gone viral.
A video of a man being knocked down by a car in Napier CBD on Friday night has gone viral.
The video was shot by Napier man Kieran Scheele, 24, who had just left a bar and was walking along Tennyson St.
As of last night, the video had morethan 60,000 views on his Facebook page and it had been shared and posted on a number of other sites.
It shows a car turning into Tennyson St from Hastings St with tyres screeching. A man, one of several pictured in the road, is struck by the car, which then drives off.
The video shows the man getting up and walking away.
Mr Scheele, 24, said he had heard the sound of a window being smashed in the distance.
His eyes were then drawn to "about a dozen young fellas yelling, swearing and running around on the road".
When a car then tore down Hastings St doing burnouts, he whipped out his phone to capture the footage - only to witness a man being struck and flying over the bonnet as the car turned into Tennyson St.
