Two separate crashes took place within metres of each other near Te Pohue yesterday afternoon

A van has rolled on State Highway 5 north of Te Pohue while another car crashed a mere 500m away.

A police spokesperson said authorities had been made aware of the situation around 3.45pm and a rescue helicopter attended.

A St John Ambulance Service spokesperson said no patients were transported to Hawke's Bay Hospital.

The police spokesperson said there were no road closures or blockages and traffic was monitored accordingly.
