Two people seriously injured following crash

Serious crash: Two people are trapped after a head on crash north of Hawke's Bay on State Highway Two near Putorino.

Two people have been taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital with serious injuries following a head on crash north of Hawke's Bay.

Emergency services were called after two Utes collided between Ridgemount rd and Matahorua rd on State Highway Two just after 5pm.

A police spokeswoman said there were no passengers in either vehicle just the drivers.

Police, ambulance and fire attended the accident and the rescue helicopter flew one of the drivers to Hawke's Bay Hospital.

Serious crash unit also attended.
