Motorists were in for a delay on State Highway 2 this morning after a truck rolled near Waipatiki.

A crane was required to clear the road and delays were expected for up to six hours.

The incident happened just after 8.30am.

The driver of the truck was uninjured in the crash.

A statement released by Hawke's Bay Police stated that: "SH2 at Tangoio will be closed from both directions for some hours due to the crash.
Diversions are currently being organised through Waipatiki and Tangoio Beach Settlement Rd."
