She divulged the region's best free activities as picnicking at Anderson Park in Greenmeadows, Westshore beach, birdwatching at the Ahuriri Estuary Boardwalk, Arataki Honey in Havelock North and the Rotary cycleways.
Vicky Roebuck of Venture Hawke's Bay recommended Craggy Range, Black Barn, Elephant Hill, Te Mata Estate and Clearview wineries as her "tried and true old favourites" at which to imbibe.
The Art Deco Trust's Sally Jackson recommended art deco walks around Napier City, a 1930s vintage car tour, a bus tour exploring around Napier and suburbs and the Geon Art Deco Weekend Festival on the third weekend in February.
Anna Bland, manager of Arataki Honey visitor centre recommended scenic cycle trips and the Pan Pac Eskdale Mountain Bike Park for the energetic.
Napier Inner City marketing manager Meg Rodel recommended art deco walks in Napier, cycling around the wineries and cyclepaths, a visit to the NZ Wine Centre, a tour of Napier Prison and a tour of Napier in the amphibious Wine Duck vehicle.
Mark Johnson of the Colonial Lodge Motel in Taradale recommended Crab Farm Winery, train rides for the kids at Keirunga Gardens in Havelock North, Provedore Restaurant and Bar in Ahuriri for refreshments, Ocean Spa for a soak and Church Road Winery with the Old Church restaurant for dinner.
Jasons CEO Matthew Mayne said the personal accounts gave travellers insights they could not get in a guide book.
