The crash took place between the intersections of Corby Rd and Ball Rd.

The road was closed and diversions were in place, but it reopened just after 9am.

One person also died following a serious crash in Longbush, Carterton.

Emergency services and the Serious Crash Unit were at the scene on Millars Rd this morning.

The road was closed for some time, however has now reopened.

Millars Rd residents reported that power went out in the area for a short time following the crash.

Several residents, who have lived in the area for many years, said the road was known to be safe and it was the first crash there in over 10 years.
