Hawke's Bay has plenty of activities and events for people of all ages to enjoy. Olivia Whyte lists 8 things on offer this weekend.

1 Declaring Our Independence
July marks the first birthday of Caveman Events. To celebrate, some of the best bands in the country are coming to Hawke's Bay.
Team Kill, Heteridix, Amachine, Dark Water and special guests will perform at the Cabana in Napier. There will be prizes, giveaways, drink specials and much more. Tickets are $10. Call 0800 BUY TIX (289 849).

2 Liam Farris
Enjoy a lazy Saturday afternoon under the amazing jacaranda trees while listening to Napier local Liam Farris.
-The Brazen Head Irish Ale & Coffee House, 21 Hastings St, Napier. Today, 2pm-5pm.

3 Magpie Market @ Meeanee - Antiques, Collectibles and Crafts
This monthly market is mostly indoors, providing something interesting for everyone. As well as numerous crafts and collectables, the market offers clothing, foodstuffs, jewellery, natural therapies and much more. There are highly experienced traders on site who can assess your treasures, antique or quirky pieces and let you know if you are holding on to a fortune! Bring the whole family and enjoy a coffee, tap your feet along with the local buskers or check out one of the demonstrations or exhibitions, which change monthly. 4 David Briggs
This internationally renowned organist's performances are acclaimed for their musicality, virtuosity and ability to excite and engage audiences of all ages. With an extensive repertoire spanning five centuries, Briggs is known worldwide for his brilliant organ transcriptions of symphonic music by composers such as Mahler, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Elgar, Bruckner, Ravel and Bach. Door sales only.

5 Women In World War One - public lecture
Professor Kay Morris Matthews will be discussing her research, focusing on women from the East Coast and Hawke's Bay. -MTG Century Theatre, 9 Herschell St, Napier. Tomorrow, 2pm-3pm.

6 Access Bars Workshop
What if there was something that could change your reality in just an hour? What if there was something that could assist you to achieve a life of peace and ease? This is a one-day workshop by Access Bars facilitator Odette Hoffmann. The total cost for training, including a manual and certificate, is $300. 8 Meditation
The Meditation and Mindfulness Practitioners group meets the first Sunday of every month. Everyone - regardless of experience, beliefs and practice - is welcome. After an introduction, the practice of sitting and walking meditation continues through the morning. The cost is $10. Door sales only.
