Hawke's Bay has plenty of activities and events for people of all ages to enjoy. We list 9 of the best on offer this weekend.

1. Hine Kihāwai

Taki Rua present a free te reo Māori theatre performance for the whole whānau. The show is entirely in te reo Māori but uses gestures and movement so even non-speakers can follow along. Pukemokimoki Marae, 191 Riverbend Rd, Napier. Today, 2pm to 3pm.

2. Taylor Hawks v Taranaki Mountain Airs

This is the Taylor Hawks' last home game. Tickets $2 at the door, thanks to Taylor Corp.

3. Fabulous/Arabia in A Tour Called Henry

After performing at Auckland City Limits earlier this year, Mike Fabulous (Lord Echo) and Lawrence Arabia, with their band of "Boogie Boys" — featuring Tom Watson and Hayden Eastmond-Mein from the Lawrence Arabia band, Riki Gooch (Cave Circles/ex-Trinity Roots) and Toby Laing (Fat Freddy's Drop) — were desperate to relive the experience.

The events are open to competitors 13 years of age and older. Challenge yourself on a course that includes swamp crossings, a spider's web net climb, a crawl under barbed wire, beautiful native bush trails, tunnels, hurdles, a climbing frame and plenty of mud.

Argentine chefs Daniel Pistone (Black Barn Bistro) and Dante Moren come together to put on round 2 of the open fire (Asado) Sunday lunches, adapted to New Zealand produce and conditions. The band take their name from the twin cities of Hawke's Bay — Napier and Hastings.
