All Blacks

*   All Blacks Yeah boys! Israel Dagg and Zac Guildford congratulations. We knew you would make it. Well done! Your whanau in Hawke's Bay are proud of you both. Bring it boys!

*   Congratulations to Izzy and Zac for making it into the All Black team for the World Cup. Kia Kaha Boys. Go the All Blacks. LH, Wairoa

*   The All Blacks should be all wearing the same colour boots. Not looking very professional at the moment!

*   Who said England's going to beat the All Blacks? If you live in NZ and support England then go back to England and stay there. NZ is for All Black suporters!

Court sentences

*   I see the justice system has handed out another ridiculous sentence for an attack. What is the difference between wounding, assault and injuring? It's all aggravated violence and yet again a law abiding person is the loser.

*   What a shambles our justice system is. A law student steals 37 times, a policeman kills a motorcyclist, and a drunken lawyer caught gets off lightly. Why? That's right, they were within the law. Yeah right.

*   Here we go again. Judge bans photos of Bay lawyer. Obviously one law for us, one law for them. AH

*   Bruce, no use fining crims heavier than present as they don't pay up so the courts let them pay them off with comunity work at 500 bucks an hour. Baza

*   Not a good look when legal fraternity seem to get different treatment from the judges. Drink driving; and numerous theft charges a while back.

Other thoughts

*   HB Hospital overcrowded? (texts 22/08) Surely not! We were promised a "centre of medical excellence". A good example of one of our earlier "benefits of amalgamation". DBS

*   Typical Tremain and Foss. Stealing thunder from the Greens re Govt subsidisd insulation.

*   To the silly boys who decided to drive down York Ave with a gun out the window and shoot at someone on their way home from work. Grow up.

*   I am going to abstain for the game! No hard work, no weeding and home work!

*   A big thankyou to the police for all they do to protect us from ourselves and others!

*   Oh come on NZ! When is the X factor comming to NZ? The rest of the world have it. why can't we.

*   Why is it that farmers can't build shelters for stock so in bad weather animals are safe? Would only take one good financial year and keep stock safe for years to come. Why not try?

*   Why do senior hospital staff believe they have the right to throw cigarette butts in grounds of hospital. I was told it was none of my business.

*   Our family would like to say thank you to the keepers working at Marineland. Your commitment and compassion for the animals is highly commendable. It must be heartbreaking knowing that your employer, the council, continues to fight to close the doors and sacrifice your jobs. Come on Napier, show your support. TH

*   The frustration! We want to take our grandchildren somewhere special, somewhere they truly want to be. To see a little one's face light up looking through the fence at Marineland one can only imagine the joy once inside. Priceless. GM, Pirimai

*   Re State Funeral Sir Paul Reeves: Thank you RNZ National for live broadcast of Sir Paul Reeves' funeral. Shame to TVNZ. This State Funeral should have been broadcast live and telling us we could see it on line not good enough. We paid our respects to Sir Edmund Hillary and Sir Howard Morrison. People of NZ expect that when national treasures die the country can join the family in respect. A word that is lacking in the powers that be in TVNZ. M Dinsdale

*   Re apples to Aussie: If they don't want our apples we should ban theirs. FFM

*   I see that for some time now HB papers have run full-page tsunami info and warnings. Seems Hastings would be unharmed in a tsunami but Napier would be inundated. The cost to Napier would be terrible and they would need billions to recover. In such an event I can hear Barbara Arnott now. "Don't help us Hastings. We don't need you. You have debts. We can make it on our own!" Yeah, right!

*   Here we go again. Council spending ratepayers money. But I do like the idea of the Havelock/ Hastings road upgrade. But how about a toll to pay for it instead.
