Art Deco buses
* So the Napier Council is going to waste more cash on two buses. Well l hope our rates don't go up to pay for them when we have Nimons and Go Buses that could do the job. This cash would be better off spent on some attraction for tourists in Napier.
* Way to go Barbara Arnott, wasting $1.5m on Art Deco buses. That money could be used for more important things. DMC
* When did Mayor Arnott and her council ask us ratepayers if we wanted those ugly looking buses? It's our money you are spending. We have a right to be asked first.
Other thoughts

* I drive at 95kms on expressway or open roads. Better to be 5km under than caught doing 5 over speed limit. Forced to overtake me would mean you already over 100km!
* What's up with the lights at Southampton St and Railway Rd? Worst its been in the 20 yrs I've had to use it. Should've made permanent roundabout. ML
* I like your 1.5metres clearance when passing cyclist ads. Perhaps you could alert cyclists to be single file not 2, 3 or 4 abreast. AJ
* Surely Christchurch homeowners realise they will lose a large part of their properties' equity. Insurance will never pay out market values. A loss is inevitable.
* Thank you HB Today for delivering free newspapers for 1 month to Irongate Kindergarten. Our families appreciate such a kind community gesture.
* Mr Yule you need to look at HCC staff numbers as a 35 per cent downturn in building surely relates to requiring 35 per cent fewer building inspectors and you'll have managed a saving for your overburdened ratepayers.
* Waimarama residents were very lucky no one was killed with the flooding. Now the next problem they face is the speeding truck drivers who drive as if it's truck racing! Cutting corners, speeding, passing car with no care for who's coming around the next corner. Some of the worst are logging truck and trailers. Police need to sit along that road for a few mornings over the next couple of weeks and get some of these off the road. Please !
* Who feels like they're being ripped off in their rates when rises are in excess off 40 per cent while contributing to a liability like Splash Planet that loses $6000 a week?
* I agree with JR . What a waste of tax payers money. With no decent bus terminal who wants to come to Napier to see a museum. YF. Leaving your son in the car and parking in disabled park at Countdown Hastings is wrong on both counts. Be a responsible role model.
* Our welfare system is so generous everyone in the world wants to live here.
* 'Top cops' spending 144k on credit cards? Maybe they need lessons on budgeting. If it is budgeted for, try to reduce that amount even more. $276 pizza? Who was he feeding?
* July 1, no cigarettes. I've been to jail and I tell you this - I would expect deaths from that day onwards. Corrections you are not prepared. From concerned citizen.
* Re clothing bins in Southland Rd: Where are the signs to indicate that it is a refuse tip as well! Am I blind? GRH
* Was heading home In 5pm traffic on Heretaunga St East and saw male jogger running alongside footpath in black clothes minimum fluro in new cycle lane! What the? Moron! Meg.
* Check out Wilson Road's new cycle lane - it's the footpath.
* Congratulations Mayor Yule on your re-election to chair local Government NZ. Hard work has its rewards. Well done.
