*   If you want crime to disappear, close the gap between rich and poor. First thngs first. It's not going to happen under the same old greedy system, though, is it?

*  A new burger chain is hitting NZ. Start in Havelock, please. It's time for a change and upper-class people don't have to use it. Think of other people, not just yourself.

*   Wonder how much the rescue of the stupid German tourist at Cape Kidnappers cost. He should be made to pay out of his travel insurance.

*   Did all you anti-trucks on Marine Parade people read Hawke's Bay Today's front-page story on record growth for our port? How does all the product move in and out, I wonder? Not on tourists' backs, that's for sure. I've got nothing against tourism and hospitality, but ... W84D I fully support Friends of Marineland. It should never been closed. Merry Christmas to the staff and animals. Bah humbug 2 the NCC.

*   Disability card-holders are not required to pay for parking meters or pay-and-display parking as these are included in the fee. Just display your permit.

*   The grass mowing and rubbish removal in the 70km/h area along the roadsides is substandard. Not good enough, HDC. Please fix this. Mike

*   Is it fair that Lotto Powerball winners take from the lower prize pool as well? It should be kept as a separate pool.
