Winz
*   To those people who text in saying Winz beneficiaries are entitled to ... how about using the word grateful in your text instead, you'll feel better for it.
*   To person moaning about Winz staff. I recently retired and found the Winz staff excellent in all facets. People work at Winz to assist people like you. They also pay taxes to support the likes of you. Don't knock them because they work at Winz. KB
*   Person whose Winz grocery card declined. Same happened to my brother. Computers had gone down so it hadn't loaded even though they did it before he left . Out of staffs' hands. Get over it.
*   To the person who said Winz workers choose to be there but single mothers didn't. I bet you didn't get pregnant magically.
Cycle lanes
*   What a balls up with cycle lanes in Gascoigne St. It's an absolute shambles.
*   Would people please stop moaning about the cycle lanes? Thanks.
*   If the Hastings cycle lanes are a sign of what we might get if Napier amalgamated then you can forget it. Don't Hastings council ever listen to their citizens?
*   Go for it HDC. Wished I lived in Gascoigne St. BK
*   Dunkirk was a stuff up, Gascoigne St is a close second. Only waiting for crashes. RJT
*   Walked my dogs down our beleaguered Gascoigne St on the footpath today dodging a yobbo riding right at me. When I pointed out the green "tramlines" I got a mouthful of four-letter words hurled at me. Sorry HDC - the message just doesn't get through some thick skulls!
*   Hastings council redo Gascoigne St and now nowhere for visitors to park from Montgomery St to Southland Rd. Bit harsh and where was the warning? TP
*   We don't like the cycle lane down Gascoigne St. Disappointing - how are people supposed to park and where are the cyclists anyway. And all the little islands that are angled out leave hardly any room for two way traffic to safely pass. You have lost our vote.
Other thoughts

*   100km may be the maximum limit and my understanding of the road rules means that if you are travelling slower than that on the open road you should pull over as do most truck drivers and allow those who choose to go at the limit to pass! Those who travel slow and sit close to centre line cause accidents through being discourteous. KH
*   Prejudice and ignorance shown by bus drivers and also Close Up reporter who harassed woman wearing hijab while ignoring white middle class couple also parking in restricted space. Shame on you all! Makes me ashamed to be a Kiwi. Show some tolerance.
*   Now that the Magpies are not first division will the price of admission come back down? Yeah right.
*   A big thank you to the person who handed in the cheque found in the Countdown carpark. The letter containing the cheque had been stolen from my mailbox.
*   Twice now I have seen traffic cops pull cars over on to broken yellow lines to issue speeding tickets - surely it's not a legal place to stop?
*   I spent $1000 for an operation my dog needed. She had to be put down 4/5weeks later from an infection. Am I the only one or has anyone else been ripped off like this?
*   BJ - that was PD guys with rakes not shovels. Great that you are grateful but just think how grateful some old folks would be if same guys chopped their firewood instead. Cat
*   Social network websites are at risk from hackers as was proved recently by Twitters Fox News. Big Brother also loves social network sites like facebook. Think about it.
*   What is it with Mr Yule many people would like to know? He seems hell bent on spending money Hastings can't afford and putting us into more debt.
*   C'mon Lawrence. I've lived in both Napier and Hastings for decades. Just leave it as it is.
*   Napier CC please please don't amalgamate with Hastings. you will be worse off.
*   It's pretty low to steal a bike from a six-year-old. It's very distinctive, one of a kind. Black with yellow dragons all over it, right down to the hub caps. If you see it please notify police.
*   Dumping bagged rubbish in someone else's street is not a crime and not littering. The council will collect it so get over yourself and find something else to moan about.
*   Big thank you to the person (and I know who you are) who's been tagging my fence. Much, much appreciated. I hope one day they invent a fence that tags you back sonny. Eddie Mcdonald
*   Does any one remember the quake risk BNZ and how they blew it up to demolish it with debris going all around the block and the bank still standing strong?
*   Can't understand how most of us have flu jabs to ward off flu, while others spread their germs around.
*   018 service, I agree with your text. I went through the exact same thing. I gave the info they asked for and got the phone number to a Soccer Club in Auckland.
*   Emmerson's cartoon re Alasdair Thompson- what a great laugh. Something we should all remember to do instead of being so damn precious! JN
*   Disgust at the person who hit the cat at the roundabout in Tamatea and left it in the middle of road. Even more so to the amount of cars that saw it and did nothing. Then to my horror the rubbish truck came and picked it up throwing it in with rubbish.
*   Absolutely mortified this was someone's pet. RIP Puss you so didn't deserve that. TW
