* I agree with text re HGH School: Why can't they have controlled crossing with teachers? It's nothing to stop five times as one person walks across at a time. Why don't police do something about it?
* When I was at Hastings Boys' High it was a big crime to
cross the railway line. in this day of excess PC I am surprised they are encouraging it.
* Riding your bike in cycle lane at night means you do not need lights? - yeah right . GRH
* Re prisoners: Obviously those naughty boys wouldn't go to their bedrooms. If any child is really hungry they will come out when they are hungry. Actually to be fair they are dorks.
* Prisoners on roof? A helicopter and a load of fertiliser springs to mind! SMB.
* Darren Hughes gets name in media while accuser hides behind name suppression. Doesn't seem fair. MW
* To anyone who has given money to the so-called homeless man who sits with the sign on our streets: He is ripping you off. I know he has a nice house and is on the benefit. He spends your hard-earned money on beer and pokies. It's sad when there are real homeless people.
* If you inherited an upmarket car but ignored the obvious and always filled it with contaminated fuel it would eventually fail and end up a wreck. Bob Hall
* Article by Bruce Bisset re booze - well done you have hit the nail on the head. JK
* To the logging truck driver who nearly caused a head on collision with me on the Napier Taupo RD... I saw you! You weren't watching the road!
* Congratulations drivers on a zero death road toll over the long week-end. Awesome. Karen, Hastings
* Can Mayor Laurence Yule tell me as a rate payer what the law is regarding young hoons riding skate boards or scooters on our footpaths in town? They are a danger .
* Hooray just what Havelock does need, a Macdonalds! To make matters better it'll be a lovely welcome on entering from Hastings! Wonderful! Heather
