*   Useless information: 11-11-11 is the first day since 31-12-99 with no zero when the date is so written. PC

*   Re phonebook: Looks good. Used to hate pulling out an encyclopedia to find a number. Maybe go get eyes checked.

*   Print still the same. Accept change. It's hard for over-50s.

*   Phonebook not business of Telecom and no mention of Telecom in publication. See bottom of page 9 for complaints.

*   The truck driver on the phone and drinking coffee while driving proves that men can multi-task!

*   It's about time someone sorted the crossing on Railway Road. Kids on bikes are coming round shop corner and biking straight across in front of traffic going 70km/h. Not good.

*   Cop this, Napier City ratepayers! Driving along Prebensen Drive on Tuesday at 3.30pm, I saw a NCC worker with a blower, blowing dust off the dirt walkway round Park Island. You've got to wonder!

*   How can NZ be considered a democracy when half the MPs are not voted into Parliament? Every MP must be voted into Parliament. Vote out MMP so we can be a democracy. Vote STV or anything apart from MMP. Then back to 99 MPs as promised back at original referendum.

*   My wife and I went to the Home and Garden Show in Napier. Great show but very disappointed in food stall layout and lack of variety. Go to Hastings market on Sunday and get a few tips. The guitar and singing entertainment was poor. Guys, before you start yodelling, introduce yourselves to the lunchtime crowd and drag them into your circle so they can be part of your entertainment.
