Speed bumps

*   Re new warehouse speed bumps: I would rather have the Kmart speed bumps, they don't wreck my car. Don't like warehouse ones at all, please fix them.

*   Yes 7pm last Thursday having a nosy at old Nelson Park. Badly shaken with speed bumps.

*   I agree the speed bumps are a poor design and don't understand what was wrong with the ordinary type that let your car gently pop over instead of feeling like you've left half your underneath behind and those stupid lights by Kmart are just dumb.

*   I agree re speed bumps at the new warehouse, they are hideous. Why are they so high?

*   Re warehouse speed bumps: Far too high and rough. I cried when I heard my front spoiler scrap over it.

*   There should be a sign at the entrance to new warehouse. Warning: 4WDs with big wheels are recommended to negotiate speed bumps! Because who ever is responsible for their construction did not consider ordinary cars using them.

Deco buses

*   So Napier City Council have gone ahead with buying these silly looking buses. Why when there is none to be seen on Marine Parade? Surely this money could have been spent on some attraction on the Parade. Don't think tourists will go off track for Napier just for a ride on a strange bus. What happens during the winter months with these buses? We rate payers will pay the price for them along with cold storage in winter months.

*   Disgusted with the council's new buses. Money should have gone towards bus terminal. They just don't care. Obviously they don't travel by bus. What's wrong with local buses? Could have painted them to suit.

*   Regarding these buses that the Napier City Council have on order. This is a waste of good cash. As a past coach tour driver within the North Island for 16 years on 10 day tours from Auckland l know the factors of the tourist industry. All tour coach drivers do a tour of Napier etc. Most tourists have said it's been a waste of time and would rather have gone through the centre of the North Island and spent a extra night in Wellington.

*   All that money for fancy Art Deco buses. Council forget the fact that Napier has bad bus stop! What a crock! Voters take a stand. MPV

Indian family

*   I am sorry for the Kumar/Chumder family but the fact is that the parents broke the law and as with all of us they must pay the penalty. If we make exceptions here where does the line get drawn? Go back and start the process properly like everyone has to. No queue jumping please. RC

*   Disgusted with Indian parents. You broke the law and kept doing it until caught. Go home stop using our country. Other thoughts What is with the "courtesy zone " signs in Railway Road? Are they temporary or permanent? What exactly is the speed limit? TR

Other thoughts

*   What's the difference between sharks and dogs? Are you serious? When sharks start roaming the streets without muzzles and leads and mauling people, shark control will work with dog control and get them all off our streets!

*   Re letter D B Smith: "Make offenders pay for their treatment": Who is going to decide who is deserving or not? I'm surprised you havn't included those on benefits to your endless list!

*   Good on you DB Smith. Such people should be required to pay for their treatment JG

*   Hey Eva, hold on girl, AA Smart Fuel is about to hit Hawke's Bay. On line, real time no dockets instant $s to slash your fuel bill. Many local retailers loading their discount onto your Smart Fuel card. Bet you will change your mind when $1 a litre or more discount is available! PS: You don't have to pump your own gas at Caltex Omahu Road. Scott

*   Did you know that if all these greedy corporations and government halted the wholesale destruction of our rain forests, the planet's water cycle and carbon cycle would be heaps better. You can't breathe money.

*   Glad to see more text about pool opening hours. I do use pool at night, but would love to use it in the afternoon. As Petrina was saying we would only need a couple of lanes.

*   Re St Columbus Fair, Havelock last Saturday: What on earth were they thinking charging $4 per child for train ride. Even Splash Planet only charges $1. Not affordable for most families.

*   The Manawatu Gorge is well over due. Some one is going to come to a nasty end there. We will not risk it anymore. This is urgent urgent. Wake up government.

*   Really enjoyed Napier writer Jennifer Watts story. I am not my mother, so true and inspirational, it's so awesome when people make that choice to become a better person. KS
