Coronation St

*   I am addicted to Coro St. At 60 I should be able to watch my favourite programme but I work until 6pm so I get to watch bloody cooking. Sick of cooking programmes. FF

*   Coro St fans please contact TVNZ in any way you can to have it permanently restored to the 7.30pm time slot. Thank you all. Anne.

*   What's up with TV One changing Coro St for cooking. Come on TV One sort it out will ya!

*   Coro St is dated like its actors and TV1 and TV3. Roll on Sky TV3,

Cannabis

*   Don Brash did not say legalise cannabis. He said decriminalise. With all the destruction, mayhem and carnage that alcohol causes maybe it's time severe restrictions were placed on it. Seen plenty of nasty drunks..haven't seen any nasty pot smokers in my 58 years. MHP

*   Where does Garth George get the idea that nicotine is "far less harmful" than pot? Is it from the lies that are trotted out by biased "experts" every time this debate is raised?

Bus shelter

*   I agree with Roger Moroney! It's not a bus shelter, it's a bomb shelter! Welcome to Napier? More like welcome to Hicksville!

*   Good editorial Roger re bus stop but you didn't mention that some people even want a toilet after sitting on a bus from Taupo! J.L

Other thoughts

*   A perfect storm is brewing! The ship that's run aground, the out-come of the Rugby World Cup and... the time change for Coronation Street!

*   Quite agree with letter re pool space. Council are totally disinterested in the needs of public as long as they can make some money.

*   Why abort babies? My baby was adopted out years ago to a lovely family who often thank me for giving birth to him.

*   I love the new Trivia section on the puzzles page I'm learning something new every day. HB Today is the best! KS

*   A big thankyou to Stu at Tony's Tyre Service, Hastings. Very professionl, a great bloke, fantastic service. Rare thing these days. From one very happy customer.

*   If you love your garden. Go to the Garden Depot. Hastings. Awesome store and awesome service. Thanks guys. I'll be back.

*   We get all sorts of junk in our mail box but the best thing in it has to be the HB Today paper which is always excellent!

*   To the idiot in the white truck who deliberately drove into the cycle lane at Awatoto: Wash your number plate so I can report you to the police. Four kids nearly lost their Grandmother!

*   What divides the Mongrel Mob and the Black Power is the same as what divides National and Labour. The colours blue and red. Colourists!

*   Thank you to the person who picked up my Eftpos card at The Warehouse on Wednesday and reported it to the bank. Much appreciated. JP

*   If we ever do become a republic just put the Maori flag where the Union Jack is and keep the Southern Cross - that would look cool and keep most people happy and glorious.

*   Have to agree George's custard squares at Mayfair really are the best.

*   Great custard squares at George's and only $3.

*   Re Hastings hotel: I'm lead to believe that Breakers is a resturant and Billy's Bar is the night life. Am I wrong or am I right? Please let me know.

*   To the group of arrogant cyclists riding two abreast up Heretaunga St on Thursdau pm, with outside rider well onto road and not in cycle lane, shame on you! You give us thoughtful cyclists a bad name!

*   Congratulations to all involved in spectacular Porritt School art exhibition. I'm sure all children passed national standards in the visual arts with flying colours. JH Difference between sharks and dog attacks.

*   The sea is the sharks' world. Sharks aren't bred to be mongrels or to fight. Sharks are endangerd, dogs are not. Yes I own dogs.

*   Driving into Stortford Lodge I was concerned that upon approaching the island and hearing the emergency services behind me I was surprised and annoyed to find that although it appears nice there has been little thought of where we are to move in case of emergencies. Time saves lifes.
