Napier Aquatic Centre

*     I would definitely use Napier Aquatic Centre if it was open to public from 5pm. Haven't complained as such as it is an excellent facility and staff great but maybe there's more of us who would like access than the management realise? Kath

*     Re pool closed at busiest times: I totally agree it's not on that there isn't at least one lane available to general public any time in the opening hours. CS

*     Re Napier Aquatic Pool: I too have experienced frustrations of pool being closed to public as have many I know. They also only have one pool open from 6-7am so everyone is squashed into one pool. Also the pool is not open until 11am on weekends. It's all about making the most money, however, the council are forgetting we pay for the pool's upkeep in our rates! The population is getting older and larger therefore the need to do exercise in water is increasing. Let's help improve the health of HB people by making the pool more available to the public.

*     Re pool being closed to public between 3 and 6: Often only one or two swimmers in old pool after 6.30 but we can't get in until 7pm.

*     Re aquatic centre. Petrina you are not alone re opening hours. The council does not listen to its rate payers re pool. Art Deco is their priority.

Coronation St

*     Who cares when Coronation Street is on! What a load of dribble! Should be called Sorrownation Street!

*     Coro St viewers should turn to TV3 from 6pm to 8.30pm, that would soon change TV One's thoughts regarding Coro St time. TV 3 news is far better anyway. GS

*     I agree with David Thew. How many programmes on TV One and 2 are repeats? And they want to get rid of Coro. No point in updating your TV just to watch second hand rubbish. Leave Coro alone. LH

Other thoughts

*     Re shark attacks: What's the difference between a shark and a dog? Shark kills person, shark gets protected, dog bites person dog gets put down.

*     Congratulations to the under 20s, Warriors and Vulcans for their efforts at Grand Finals. Always a Warriors fan. FY

*     Indicators are on your car for a reason. Use them when you should. JHW

*     Thumbs down to the lady who goes around all the Hastings cafes trying to get a refund for food she's never purchased! Go and get a job like everyone else!

*     To the person that found $300 in $20 notes on Browning St Napier in September I'd like to pay my overdue power bill. Please hand it into police.

*     Whoever the lowlife is that keeps stealing the swing from the George's Drive creek. Make your own. You are taking away a lot of fun for the local children.

*     Thanks HB Today for the great coverage of our ANZ Future Captain Murphy and the Onekawa School. Wilma.

*     Good on you parking wardens. There are meters outside the church are there not? I have seen them around on Saturdays. Tough luck. Pay up.

*     Re letter from Liz Banks on milk story: I breastfed two boys plus twins. Loved each minute and encourage others too. All mums want the best but it is not always possible. Living rurally I would have loved to be able to buy a premade bottle for urgent use and town. It would be expensive but so convenient! I'm sure grandparents would have a spare in the pantry!

*     The new Warehouse entrance speed bumps are like driving up a kerb! Anyone else have a problem with them?

*     Thumbs up to truck driver who helped a pregnant lady with three kids cross busy road. I seen ya! What a top bloke. Mantell Harding you should be very proud to have a driver like that.

*     To the guy who just rode right out in front of me at the lights at Maadi Rd, yeah you know who you are, that was your lucky day. Next time you might not be. You gave a young chick a heart attack.

*     With the Manawatu Gorge out of action for ages why not use the rail track from HB to Palmy with extra trains to run?

*     To KL: it wasn't the players of the Japan team that went to Craggy Range it was the management.
