Just not cricket

*    Does Mr Arkwright feel that because our sports people are out mixing with the public that they should be subject to bulls..t comments? He knows he was average, he didn't need someone reminding him.

*    I am disappointed in Jesse but the guys who baited him and Doug are nothing but a pair of losers looking for their 15 mins of fame. Pete B

*    Sports people get in the crap when people like Brendon Arkwright open their mouth to get a bite then they are the bad ones. Keep your mouth shut, Brendon, they weren't doing any harm. BJ

*    People should remember, while sports players are having a quiet drink among themselves, they don't need some halfwits taunting them and upsetting things.

*    To the two Rotorua cafe owners who were giving the Black Caps "stick", as you called it, go back to Rotorua where you belong. How rude to give them stick when they knew they didn't play well, then ring the media. What dicks.

*    Mr Arkwright, that was the reaction you expected from Ryder and co. Stirrer.

Other thoughts

*    Re old Warehouse building. Would it not be great to see this building used for markets or the likes of the International Cultures Day, or food festivals? No problem if the weather turns nasty. It would be good to see some of the empty buildings in Hastings used regularly .

*    Re Jesus billboard. Although I have no problem with other people's beliefs, personally I don't believe any person or belief could "heal" such a horrible illness. I think it's disrespectful to promote such a statement that can't be proven. Keep it inside the church, not out. Let others trying to cope focus on the medical treatment that has been proven to sometimes heal.

*    Why are approximately 200 people attending cricket matches at Guthrie Park unable to use the grounds' toilets, yet a private business operating from the site has full use of all council facilities five days a week? One for the council to answer, perhaps. John Hastings

*    Good on Henare O'Keefe for wanting to be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem!

*    An anonymous texter (March 2) suggests "if you disagree with power company sales you should wait for the first sale and if it's your supplier switch to another to deter future buyers". Unless we're all, ultimately, prepared to give up electricity entirely, won't this progressively make all the remaining suppliers larger and more valuable, to the point where we end up with one huge monopoly, hugely profitable and hugely attractive to buyers? Okay, time for some more bright ideas. DBS

*    You're welcome, re unexpired parking ticket in Farmers. You made my day also. Pass it on.

*    Re All Brite collection. We live in Onekawa and our collection is done by 9am. Did you ever think that they have a large area to cover and someone has to be last?

*    Totally agree with Edward Hamilton re tip prices. I was asked for $25 for a standard trailer of green waste at Blackbridge last visit. Outrageous!

*    Re moon boots. They can't be used again because they have had skin contact and can't be sterilised. I was told they cost only about $30, usually paid for by ACC.

*    Hope this text helps those who in the past two or three years haven't heard or learnt that the old main entrance to HB Hospital is no longer the main entrance. It is now staff only. To make this clear they frosted over the window and put sings up saying no public access and the door won't open no matter how hard you pull or kick them. And yelling or cursing at the staff doesn't work either.

*    Driving past the airport the other morning I said to my 6-year-old son 'look there is a Gulfstream jet'. He said 'do they play golf in it!' PE

*    Just been to see lantern light display at Cornwall Park. Awesome, but what a shame it is on over such a short time.

*    Bit of the green-eyed monster I think of Mr Anonymous complaining about Gary Macs appointment. Rugby clubs informed of position available, after over 30 years as a rugby volunteer Gary Mac will make an excellent manager.

*    Re church billboard: I think it would make a great Tui billboard and yes I have lost a family member to cancer.

*    Henare O'Keefe is a mentor to us all. Vengeance and hate will only breed more violence. Give me O'Keefe over McVicar any day.

*    Welcome back Zac...to the footy field and our hearts.

*    Re Christchurch Cathedral demolition: A building can be replaced, precious lives lost can not be replaced. The heart of a city taken away? The hearts of many families were taken. A new cathedral, a new start.

*    To CC moaning re window cleaner. Making a little extra coin - good on him. Leave him alone.
