*   The criminal conviction imposed on man taking old toilet cistern from the dump is an abuse of our justice system. Shame on those who call that justice it is disgusting. JK

*   I've been living in HB for seven months and what I've seen and read shows that HB has the worst drivers in the country. I've never seen so many crash fatalities from one province in a short time and I've lived in cities. Come on HB, let's keep our roads safe!

*   I bike and It is much safer to ride two abreast. Traffic has to slow down then. Most drivers don't with a single cyclist and zoom past within cms Dangerous!

*   Nice one CM (texts 21 Oct). I didn't know that (Hastings originally Hicksville). Perhaps in view of the liabilities they have heaped on their ratepayers they could consider liquidating the current business and re-opening under their original (very appropriate) name. DBS.

*   Your article on political parties attending the Hawke's's Bay Show, failed to mention that the Conservative Party was also represented by its local candidates, and former MP Larry Baldock.

*   Just back from Aussie, their standard milk tastes like NZ milk used to taste, creamier. NZ milk is just coloured water. We are getting ripped off in price and quality, bigtime.
