*   How are emergency services supposed to access Ocean Beach after hours if gates locked?

*   Please say you are joking. $3000 to fly to Queenstown. Would love to hear from airline how they came up with that price. JB

*   OMG! My drive to Gizzy on the December 27 was one of the scariest I've ever had. The idiots trying to get to Rhythm and Vines festival were on death wishes. It was shocking!

*   Thank you Hawke's Bay Today for subway prize. It was a great start to the New Year!

*   Genetically Modified Organisms foods have actually weakened all who have partaken of them - slowly.

*   So wonderful to see the World Champion Optimist Yachts sail out in the Bay. Such a better headline than 'Stabbing in McDonald Street'. Let's keep positive in Hawke's Bay!

*   To R Berry, your choice to have the wheely bin. Too hard for council to manage who has bins etc. Wouldn't it be better for all of us though if you recycled? MF

*   Noticed golf course at Golflands messy and untidy. A huge embarrassment to Hawke's Bay. What's going on?

*   National's new Food Safety Bill. Control food and you control the world.

*   To texter ST: Waimarama Rd is not a highway, 60km is fast enough to kill. MO

*   Can the big sign please urgently go back up at the Clive Water Domain. It has been gone for weeks now. Wrong time to remove it, an accident waiting to happen. DJ.

*   I have worked at a number of schools from Gisborne to Flaxmere. The problems are no respect for anything or anyone and no repercussion for what they do. They all know their rights. Not their responsibilities. CD

*   Re Scum solutions. Noose is the story. Reuseable and 100 per cent environmentally friendly. DBS.

*   Great idea, yes, let's have a Red Shirt Day. Anne.

*   Red Shirt Day: Yeah right, you might as well wear a poodle on it as well. Sounds like you are one sided. We are all the same. Why don't we all wear pink shirts instead. Rayleen

*   Wairoa gang robbery. Nip it in the bud cops, nip it in the bud.

*   Where were the parents when a 12-year-old went out robbing tourists? Campbell

*   When is the Government going to grow some you know what and make gangs illegal. These low-life scum need a major sorting. KB

*   Why bash innocents in red T-shirts? Why not take on the real deal if it's them you have a problem with?

*   To all stupid gang members: Why stab or beat innocent people? Does it make you feel good to do foolish things? Colours belong to everyone in my opinion. Get real, stop the stupid behaviour. Then you'll be doing everyone a favour. It's not much to ask!

*   It is not about what colour people wear, it's about young people lost in the last 10 years with no family or role models. If we don't fix it now we will have worse things to deal with. Give the young work. We will then find out those who we need to help - the ones that won't work. Think smarter NZ.

*   Instead of complaining that you have to pay for treatment from GP or dentist, try asking why only hospitals get funding!

*   Is a two wheel drive quad bike all terrain or not?

*   To the bus traveller who found the Taupo stop toilets closed: They are disgusting so maybe they did you a favour.

*   There would be fewer deaths if the police pulled over the real speeding drivers who are overtaking on a blind bend while going towards a police officer, as happened on Korokipo Rd recently.

*   To the parents of all the drunk, foul-mouthed teenagers who abused police and residents in Tamatea on Saturday night. Well done - you must be so proud!

*   I have tinnitus, noises in the ear. Does anyone know of any simple treatments? John H.

*   Even my reading glasses need glasses to read the mini print in the new phonebook. Perhaps it was designed for fleas. Get it right next time.

*   Well done to the editor for the reply about the posting of a photo of a hot air balloon in Saturday's paper. I bet that reader feels stupid now that they know the paper is published late Friday night. Get your facts right.

*   Re hot air balloon: Gee, you are a subscriber of HB Today? What time do you go to your gate and get it on a Saturday morning? AW

*   To the person complaining about air balloon in Saturday's paper because of Carterton accident? Get real please. Papers were being DELIVERED before the accident happened.

*   Re pic of hot air balloon in Saturday's paper: Bought my paper at 8am, balloon crashed at 7.30am, even HB Today aren't that quick! Oh and no pictures of planes, trains, cars or motorbikes in the future. Tragic accidents happen, sad and a waste but like Wairarapa HB needs these tourism dollars and I hope businesses survive!

*   To the low life who stole my phone and wallet from the disabled parking at Onekawa pools - you have cost me huge stress and expense. But thanks to a community minded man, I have my driver's licence back.

*   Anyone know of any organised trips to see the musical Jersey Boys'in Auckland in April?

*   Yes I have swum with the dolphins at Marineland, one of the best things I have done in my life. We played with some seaweed and to watch them swimming underwater was just magic. SE

*   So the petrol price has risen. What's new with the high price of food etc with low wages within NZ. No wonder most people are slipping into poverty. If you are a tradesperson head overseas as there is no incentive in NZ.

*   Be a tidy Kiwi! On rubbish day pick up stray rubbish.

*   Why expensive inquiries when accidents happen? They happen. Man's fault mainly.
