*    Is it an urban legend or does a pair of shoes thrown over the power lines or street light indicate the presence of a drug house? I'd love to know.

*    I would like to thank the people who witnessed the crash and came to my aid on the freeway and Links Rd on Thursday. If the lady who kept the gash on my leg covered could give me a call on 845-3847 I would appreciate it. Gary Wilson

*    We recently went to Sandy Beach for a beautiful swim. It was lovely swimming in clean water. It was disappointing though when the family behind us packed up and went and left all their rubbish behind. Shame on you. You ruin a beautiful beach.

*    Yes I clean domestic ovens. Back to brand new in most cases. Ring me 06 8796103.

*    Switched On Services clean ovens and do a great job! Thoroughly recommend Ted. Find them in white pages.

*    All the people going on about colours and gang members: All you are doing is giving these scumbags the exposure they want. If you want to do something positive, work out how to get rid of them out of our town for good.

*    Re UFO text: No, but we did see a flock of pigs playing banjos flying over Awatoto about the same time

*    HB Today ever so tactful publishing in Saturday's paper the photo of a hot air balloon. Nice one guys. Editor's note: Saturday morning's paper is put together late on Friday night, well before the Carterton air ballooning tragedy.
