*    Craig Foss, MP Tukituki, letter to the editor January 12 was fairly convincing in regards to food bill and I'd have to say Bruce Bisset hit back with a great left hook. Great stuff. KD Ulyatt.

*    Why can't our kids bike to school, am and pm. Traffic congestion, fuel saving, carbon footprint, empty cycle lanes and obesity are all things to consider. MG

*    I'm visiting from Australia and I'm amazed that the CBD still has its Xmas decorations up while in the shops there are Easter Eggs for sale.

*    I hope the thieves who stole a skateboard from Sefton St are proud of themselves. My 11-year-old son is so upset. It was his Xmas present, one we can't afford to replace! Makes me so sad people do this to others. It's just not fair!

*    Hawke's Bay Chamber of Commerce CEO Murray Douglas has obviously lost touch with middle class reality. The reality is that for middle income earners with children it certainly is not affordable to purchase property that is fit to raise children in. For such a beautiful place the income is well below par! I guess we just have to wait until we are on CEO wages to buy our first home!

*    Has someone lost a black dog with a white tip on its tail in the Bay View area? It has been seen in the Le Quesne Rd/Franklin Rd area, wandering for the past two weeks, but will not come near you when called.

*    How much does that building by the expressway roundabout owe us and what's it used for?

*    How long before Wilson Road is allowed to deteriorate like Oak Ave? Judi

*    Thank you to whoever found our keys on a sports shoe keyring and gave to Waipukurau New World. Much appreciated. NR

*    Truck driver: The centre line is what you keep to the left of. Perhaps you have to brake and wait until it is clear for you to cross over it!

*    Are you mad Pita Sharples? Why on earth would you agree with Destiny Church getting Government funding intended for Maori? Funding for any group should always go where it's needed.

*    Brian Tamaki's bid for Government funding under the guise of Maori funding is laughable. His idea of an elite city for Destiny Church members smacks of cult separatism and a well furbished lifestyle for himself.

*    To texter re ambulance charges: $67 bills not new. Charges are well worth it. In addition, consider giving a donation. St John deserves it. JH

*    Thumbs down to Blues Brews and BBQs. I had money from a previous year and they wouldn't honour it. What a money spinner. Leeza

*    What's toxiplasmosis? A new name for nosy, annoying neighbours?

*    Time the Chrisco ad was dumped. Beth.

*    If a tree drops fruit on to the footpath does the council clean it up or the owner of the property the tree is on?
