Blues Brews and BBQs

*   Blues Brews and BBQs: What a fantastic afternoon and great atmosphere. Myself and my seven friends had a fantastic day. My friends all texted and thanked me for organising tickets and we all can't wait for next year. KM

*   Well I went to Blues Brews and BBQs and it was the best one ever. I've been to all of them except last year, due to weather. I also went with a crowd of people and they all enjoyed themselves. The event is what it is an caters to all. If people don't want to be around people that drink then don't go and moan. S Wilkins

*   Re Jeremy Smith's critique of Blues Brews BBQs: Yes Devil's Elbow are great so was Clap Clap Riot but you moaning about the Retrobates is totally odd. They were in tune and funky, as for (played badly) all of those guys have played with the late great Ian Morris who I'm sure recognised talent far better than you!

*   Since when have coaches been allowed up Te Mata Peak? There were six up there one day this week and it's just not safe. Come on Napier and Hastings councils, stop this before a coach load of tourists get killed.

*   Well done Eva. I am feeling exactly the same about Cuba Street closing but sorry of course for the reason given. I discovered the unique little place only months ago but became hooked after that first visit. I just can't even think of finding anywhere else to go now. Kim

*   Elle not sure what planet you are from. I was not whining as you so called it. I was merely stating a fact. The butchers have paid good money to advertise their business. Sorry if this offends you. Rob

*   Re we are blind to Government hypocrisy letter signed Ken Taylor: My friend I've thought along those lines for many years and have pushed my sentiments on various issues via the media and at times it feels like you're on your own but let me say to you that you are not. K.D.Ulyatt

*   Re: Lake Tutira. We were camping with my family from 31/12 to 07/01 and had no problems with swimming until Friday, January 6. That day every person that went swimming was itchy and had a rash. The rash is still bad on my child. Please inform us what it was so we know it won't have a lasting effect on them. MM

*   Isn't it amazing when MPs don't make it into Parliament they don't end up on the scrap heap like us mere mortals instead a high paying cushy job is created for them paid by the tax payer.

*   To the kind man who gave my sister and I an umbrella while we were waiting in the pouring rain after the Fat Freddie's Drop concert. So very kind of you thank you. Lola and Sue.

*   Re recent article about camp sites that people like to stay:Clifton Motor Camp is a beautiful motor camp. We've been going since we were kids and our families generations before, but can't understand why the Regional Council would not want to protect this motor camp from the sea. Something needs to be done instead of taking thousands of dollars for consents that camps and people living along the coast can no longer afford. Hawke's Bay is known for its beautiful beaches etc. Let's keep it like this so more generations can keep coming to the motor camp and enjoying time with family and the beauty of our beaches. Not just at Clifton but right along as far as Westshore.

*   Does anyone know a good home made bulk fish food to make. We have a moat with over 200 large goldfish, not koi carp, that eat two handfuls of feed daily. NR

*   Re silver birch trees: I have five next door all on the front lawn. Imagine the mess in the high winds, inside, every where. Gutterings full of branches and leaves in winter. Ban them in town, they are a nuisance.

*   Big thanks to the man who stopped and helped me pick up my bike on Karamu Rd on Wednesday afternoon. Much appreciated.

*   To the truck driver asking oncomng traffic to move left while he tries to avoid cyclist in his lane: Why should oncomng traffic move over so you can cross into their lane?

*   Re death penalty: People like David Bain would have been executed for nothing.
