Morning paper

*    Morning delivery HB Today - can't wait. I will be able to read it all before I have to cook tea. JR

*    HB Today as a morning paper is the right decision because it can keep up with the Dom and NZ Herald. Good move for a good paper!

Other thoughts

*    To the guy who dinged the Magpies ute in Napier Pak'nSave carpark: Your guilty look as you caught my eye while you scuttled away was a giveaway - man up, I was too late to get your licence plate number. I remember faces though.

*    Re Haumoana groyne fields. So it's okay to extract thousands of cubic metres from the Black Bridge shingle area but it's not okay to replenish our beach with the same material? Go figure. HBRC and HDC, stop filling your own pockets and look after our coast! MK

*    Why do we let these monkeys in these so-called gangs run riot in NZ. It is a national disgrace and embarrassment. The government should have the guts to outlaw them.

*    We sadly live in a community of knockers who can't focus on the positive things Art Deco brings in. Get over it - it's one weekend and it's fantastic! Go find something worthy to complain about.

*    You're right, it's hard to find some sleep in certain areas of Mayfair, with dogs barking all night long. Dogs shouldn't be allowed in residential areas.

*    To the gullible who paid 40 bucks to see their false idol SBW. Wake up, he's just a show pony!

*    Top taking the shingle out of the rivers so the ocean can grind it into sand and lay it on the beach for us to enjoy. Start giving.

*    I read with interest there are hundreds of school teachers with criminal convictions. Why has our government been allowing this to happen?

*    Black Power clowns are still attacking people. Lock them all up before the innocent get killed. SF

*    Great news, the prospect of top international sport in Hastings. A Hastings hockey pitch is a badly needed facility for locals and is fully backd by the Hawke's Bay hockey community. Adam Wrigley

*    Cost of living upward, living standards downward. National Party forward, mojo funding awkward. Tama iti ... backward!

*    Could someone please fix the flag on top of Vautier House in Napier?

*    I work long, hard hours in the hospitality industry. Gaming rooms are full on benefit day. Do I pay tax to watch dishonest, lazy gamblers carelessly fritter? Winz should be answerable.

*    People who buy vouchers for restaurants need to make sure they read the terms, etc, before they buy them. KJ, I don' thnk many places would let you use two vouchers at once. What's in it for them? Also, if a voucher has expired, don't expect it to be honoured. NF

*    What's the problem at the Taradale on-ramp? Don't people know how to merge? There is a big merging lane for a reason, so learn to use it!

*    Re Omahu Rd/Canning Rd: Big bump here - poor people in ambulances are going to hospital. Created when Omahu Rd upgraded. Another HDC stuff-up.

*    Re the sub-standards of Pyke River mine. Sadly they highlight a growng culture where profit takes priority over people.

*    Tui girls are our country girls? I am from Dannevirke and they have always been around. Who cares? Auckland girls feeling threatend? I think so.

*    The White Ferns are a joke. Too timid. Why don't they appeal for more LBWs? They are too polite!

*    Hope all those wearing fox furs at Art Deco functions were feeling proud. Did you think about what you were wearing? I think not.

*    What is HB turning into? A bunch of cat-hating whingers! Leave our much-loved pets alone - this is why kids are being hurt if animals are treated badly.

I*    f your cat is on your property, it is your household pet. If it on my property, it is feral. Imagine the same situation if we were talking about dogs?

*    The ignorance of supposed 'cat lovers' who reckon it is ok for cats to foul other peoples property is astounding. Hot curry powder is a good deterrent.

*    Visited Taradale, used loo in carpark. Filthy and disgusting. Hastings may be short of loos but what they have are kept clean.

*    How frustrating watching the "dont be a clown, wear a life jacket" ad during the ITM fishing show and no one on the entire show wore a life jacket. Bad example guys!

*    Good to see motorhomes parked on grass between aquarium & playground on Marine Parade. Pity council don't let them stay there more. Walkng distance to town - restaurants and shops! Lucy

*    The reasons given for cutting drivers licence testing from rural areas must be the biggest load of, being polite, codswallop I've heard from the NZTA for a long time. I agree with a lot of what Mayor Probert has said. This cutting of service is not, I repeat not about driver safety no matter how it's presented. It will be interesting to see where the AA stands on this.

*    The Government of a country is meant to represent you and not itself. Seems our one just doesn't listen ie. sale of SOEs, smackng law etc, etc.
