TEXT OF THE DAY
I take my hat off to Paul Holmes for his stand against P. Shows it affects all walks of life. Takes courage to share his personal pain for the greater good. Salute. MD

Re letters to Ed "A city eaten by art deco mania" this fellow Frame needs
a GSP as I notice he didn't contribute to NCC Annual Plan. Ian, Taradale

Congratulations to the HB waka crew who won gold at the Gold Coast comps.
Choice to see PD workers painting out Awatoto tags!
When will some four wheel drivers learn if they don't give way they can badly hurt or kill someone with that size car. Twice it has happened to me this week. Be more careful. BFM
Re text homeless beggar. Ring police every time you see him. They do come and pick him up. I do it every time I see him. He is not allowed to do it as he does get a benefit. He also smokes as well as gamble and drink.
Re man begging with sign - call police, begging illegal.
Re Puketitiri Road: NCC only do Art Deco roads.
Why did the police go to so much trouble getting those inmates down from their rooftop location? Leave them there to starve and freeze. They're a waste of space.
Prisoner on roof in China gets shot. Prisoner on roof in Singapore gets bashed with baton. Prisoners on roof in NZ have big sleep, ask for chicken sandwiches and waste time. Then given sanction of no spa pool and fish 'n chips for one month. NZ funny country.
Congratulations to all the HB canoe polo players who won gold at nationals, especially the schoolgirls who won women's B grade.
To the woman who wrote put men on a curfew - what a great idea. Would be great to be able to walk again without fear of being attacked.
To the person who thinks there are jobs picking fruit maybe time for you to get a life as there is very limited work available. I know, I've been in industry 10 yrs.
HB Sports awards great night but Reignier School children stole the show. Hope you sing at the next Magpies home game.
