Rugby World Cup

See 48 games of World Cup rugby - why say this when it's only available on Sky? Not everybody can afford it - totally unfair.

After attending Rugby World Cup games in Cardiff and Sydney I found a great way to add atmosphere to games where little-known teams are playing. The locals fully support teams based on their birth dates, eg everyone whose birth date is an even number supports France and everyone whose birth date is an odd number supports Canada. Great way to vocally support a team and raise their spirits!

No umbrellas are allowed at the World Cup game venues because they can be used as a weapons. What about jandals? They shouldn't be allowed either, then.

Very disappointing to learn that there were hundreds of empty seats at the France/Canada game. Why did they not show up weeks ago when we kept trying to buy tickets? JD

World cup rip-off: Have a beer at Auckland's domestic airport - $8 a drink. At Mahora local it's $4: Same size, big screen, great place and staff.

This is like Xmas all over again. Santa loves rugby and he's come Back to enjoy the World Cup. Hastings has the spirit. JVM

Why weren't our amazing HB Magpies included in the Blossom Parade? Shame on Hastings District Council for not including them, especially as the RWC is on. SH

I would like to say how awesome the Blossom Parade was this year. Great to see so many people.

I would love to have a car flag to support the All Blacks but can't buy any in the Bay. Please someone, get some more.

Other thoughts

Anyone else notice how things seem to be shrinking? Biscuits, muesli bars, cans of creamed rice only half filled with rice, less spaghetti, baked beans, etc.

To texter: "Why didn't the chicken cross the road?" Thanks, I had a good giggle.

Re Running of the Lambs. Well done, Waipukurau, for not giving in to all the moans and groans of the few sad people out there with nothing else to moan about.

Re sewage dumping: They can afford a museum but not sewage treatment - priorities. Worse than shameful, it's incompetence.

Great job done by SPCA for the newly done up Fetch shop. Looks amazing. Good for Emerson St. SS

To the person sad about the end of Warren's Bakery's custard squares: My girlfriend makes the best custard squares, at Zeste Espresso, Karamu Rd. Go try one they're beauty! Kelli
