Amalgamation

No wonder Napier don't want to join us. Our council is run by wasters of our money.
"Out of touch with Hastings economic needs?" What part of no does this man not understand? Good on you NCC for sayng no to amalgamation.
Why waste money on a costly independent amalgamation study when NCC & Napier citizens answer to amalgation is a resounding NO. Hastings must be pretty desperate.
Mayor Yule front page HB Today July 5. What a drama queen.
Kahui book
I hope the Napier libraries buy The Kahui Case. I'd love to read it. Ian Wishart is a respected journalist. It would be great to get into the head of one of the family.
All good and well for Heather McCracken to write Macsyna King never convicted over death of her twins. She wasn't even home and nowhere to be found when those two beautiful boys were beaten so bad. But what sort of mum leaves her babies in that enviroment to go out drinking? The point is they needed her and she failed them big time. Those poor wee angels. Let's hope they're in a better place.
Quite agree with editorial July 4. Refusing to stock or ban a book sets a dangerous precedent. Wonder if all opposed are getting back at author for book on Helen?
Other thoughts
Is Duke St a road or a cycle lane? There are big green bikes painted down the middle of the road.
Will be a huge Mission Concert on Feb 25. Heard from reliable source that Roger Waters from Pink Floyd is the act we can look forward to with The Wall tour! MR
Re veiled women refused bus entry. If a white woman was out in middle east she would have to cover up and be accompanied by a male. When in Rome do as Romans do.
Re super scandal. The reality is superannuitants are only getting about 33per cent of the average wage
Disapointing to see rocket man driving again. No justice. RA
What a lot of nonsense re not choosing to be single mum. We all have choices. Ever heard of contraceptives. That perhaps would have been a good choice. Angela
I note since cycle lanes drivers better at driving centrally instead of all over the road. There are a lot of cyclists using lanes too, contrary to some views.
Good on the school principals who are makng a stand against these nonsensical National Standards. Plenty of parents are right beind you. Hard to believe some schools are embracing them. I've just received my child's report frm one such school and it tells me absolutely nothing!
How over the top to sack Alasdair Thompson. Helen
Omahu Rd a shambles. No traffic control, rocks on road = broken windscreen, getting stuck over the soft stuff. NZ army would be able to test the suspension on their tanks with the potholes. A little different to when the last part was done. It was organised a lot better.
What is up with the symbol on that sign as you come into Hastings. Please tell me that does not represent Hastings. Disgraceful council, hang your heads in shame.
Just moved here from Palmy. Can't believe Marineland situation. What a waste of potential. Council no ears.
