Two teenagers have been charged with arson after a Wairoa fire last week.

Two youths have been arrested in relation to a Wairoa fire which blazed through at Netball Pavilion last week.

A fire on February 22 caused significant damage to the interior of the Black Street pavilion which is used for local netball games, as well as other community events and fitness classes.

This afternoon Detective Sergeant Daniel Kirk said Wairoa Police had charged two 14 year-olds with arson, who will appear in the Wairoa Youth Court later this month.

"I would like to thank the public for their cooperation with Police during the investigation, and my staff for the incredible job they have done in identifying and apprehending those responsible," he said.
