The robbery happened at Green Meadows Four Square on Gloucester St. Photo/Google Maps

Two 16-year-olds have been arrested after a brazen robbery at a Napier supermarket.

The male and female were seen acting suspiciously outside the Green Meadows Four Square on Gloucester St about 5.45pm today.

The pair were in possession of weapons during the robbery, which left a customer badly shaken but uninjured.

A concerned witness called police, who arrived in time to see the offenders running from the store. They were tracked by a police dog and handler and arrested nearby.

Police have thanked the public for their outstanding assistance, that helped them get to the scene quickly and arrest the teens.
