More FM Winery Tour concert-goers are encouraged to take a minute to recycle their empty glass and plastic into colour-coded bins, as a part of a nationwide push to keep New Zealand beautiful.
The tour, featuring Brooke Fraser, Midnight Youth and Opshop, will be stopping off in Hawke's Bay for concerts
at Black Barn Vineyards today and Monday.
Last year the Glass Packaging Forum collected 84,000 bottles across all of the Winery Tour dates, this year they hope to get an even bigger response.
"Our message to the audience is simple. We want people to realise that bottles don't recycle themselves," the forum said."It takes people to put them in the correct bin.
"In addition to providing separate glass recycling bins and encouraging colour separation of glass, there will be mixed recycling bins for cans and plastic."
The forum has taken on the government-funded Love NZ brand. "We will start to roll this out at the More FM Winery Tour concerts before a major campaign ahead of and during the 2011 Rugby World Cup."
