Good in-lamb ewes soared to new heights at yesterday's Stortford Lodge store sale, although lambs continued to be strong.

Te Tiki Station, Ohuka, offered 359 five-year ewes and 192 mixed-age in-lamb romney ewes.

The 5-year-olds made $231 and $234 and the younger sheep $240 and $238. They were scanned at more than 170per cent.

Other in-lamb ewes offered did not do so well at $189 and $181 which was still above works value.

Store lambs continued to climb with the best of them making $189 for pen of cryptorchids.

Some smaller ewe lambs eased slightly but the overall tone remained strong with lambs coming from as far away as Gisborne and Waikato in the yarding of about 4600 head.

Yearling bulls in a small offering of about 100 head sold well.

Buyers were from Hawke's Bay with interest from Gisborne, Pahiatua, Feilding and Taupo.
