SHUT: Snow has closed Te Mata Peak to traffic.

Snow is affecting roads across Hawke's Bay, principally the Napier Taupo Road and the Napier Taihape Road.
This morning the road to the summit of Te Mata Peak was also closed because of black ice conditions - with staff planning to reassess the situation mid-afternoon.
For the most up-to-date information on road closures from Hastings District Council, residents are advised to see the council's main Facebook page where notices are posted as they come into the office: www.facebook.com/hastingsdc
As at this morning (9.43) the Napier Taupo Rd is closed;
The road from the Kuripapaonga Bridge to Taihape Road remains closed.
The Taihape Road from Napier to Kuripapaonga Bridge is open but there is black ice on the road heading towards Kuripapaonga Bridge. Motorists are advised to drive with extreme caution and to the road conditions at all times.;
Updates will be posted 12 noon, 4pm for overnight status and 8am tomorrow morning.
